Margaret Love

 

MARGARET HOSEK LOVE went with the Angels to be with her Savior on April 19, 2010. She was born January 2, 1922 to Louis and Mary Hosek.Margaret was raised in the Heights and was proud of her background. She graduated from Reagan High School in 1940, where she was a member of the Reagan Red Coats and made a tour with them to Mexico City. During World War II, Margaret was President of the Military Girls. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of Houston in 1947, and her Master's Degree in 1948. In her junior year she was class treasurer, and was President of her senior class.Margaret was a teacher and counselor for 40 years with the last 34 years at Memorial Senior High. She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society...an educators' sorority.As a founder of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic, she was involved in many ministries. She enjoyed giving communion to those living at the Pines Nursing Home. For years she was President of the church's "Super Seniors", and was Treasurer of the Women's Guild. She particularly enjoyed volunteering at the church and St. Jerome Food Pantry.Margaret was an avid reader and extensive traveler to places all over the world. The theatre, plays and symphonies were always on her calendar. She loved to spend time with family and friends at the beach or Lake Travis. She enjoyed all sportsespecially the Astros, Rockets and Texans. When her sons were young, she was always at their games. She also bowled and participated in many leagues. She felt she had always been blessed with fun-loving friends and familyespecially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Her family was her great pride and she thanked God for those gifts.Margaret is survived by her sons, James Love and Elaine, Michael Love and Susan, Mark Love and Leslie; grandchildren, Briana Settle and Michael, Ashley, Taylor and Morgan Love, Melissa Grooters and Charley; great-grandchildren, Andrew Grooters, Jake Settle and twins on the way. This is a close familyalways having fun together, and yet sharing love and gifts with others.The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, visitation will continue until 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday,St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Drive, Rev. Niall Nolan, celebrant. Rite of committal will be in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers are Terry Guerin, David Henson, Dennis Love, Ivan Love, Dean Myers and Mike Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Canty, Clint Childress, Kim Elston, George Giagtzis, Johnny Hendrix, Mike Hooks, Steve Lundy, Matt McDaniel, Doy Mims, Randy Muench, Steve Stager and Scott Taylor.It was Margaret's humor that kept her going in good times and bad. She wants everyone to know, "Please don't grieve for me...just think of the fun we had and that I'm now with the Lord". -->
